With the official release of GP2013 information, we are close to knowing everything (except the price, which I still expect to be about $38K in USA).
Feel free to read the official PDF, and view the press pictures:
Highlights include:
“0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 6.3 seconds … 80 to 120 km/h (50–75 mph) time in fifth gear of just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 242 km/h (150 mph)” – note that since this is 0-100km/h, 0-60mph will be slightly faster.
“DSC Dynamic Stability Control is not combined with DTC, but with a special GP racing mode”
“standard specification of the MINI John Cooper Works GP includes xenon headlights in black shells, foglamps, sun protection glazing, air conditioning, DSC with special GP mode, and a Sport button”
“A six per cent reduction in drag is reflected in improved fuel economy and a higher top speed”
There’s also now a very good write-up on Motoringfile, discussing some of the differences between the 2006 and 2012 GP designs.
