This information about the Monterey Historics is from Charlie:
It starts on Wednesday Night with Barry Mc Calls big gala at the Monterey Jet Center….for the beautiful people, at $150 each..all food and drink included, plus the preview for the Christie’s auto auction.
Thursday is the “free concours” as most of the cars from the Pebble Beach Concours participate in the rally, a points tie breaker for Sunday’s judging. Started out 4 years ago with about 25 cars. Now almost all participate. They rally throughout the valley, then stop for lunch on downtown Carmel, and all the cars are parked in the middle of the street. It’s really a great event, and there’s all the nearby shops and galleries.
Friday is the first day at the Historics, a practice day for all race groups running Sat & Sun. It also the day for Concourso Italiano at a golf course in Seaside, and “The Quail” in Carmel Valley, the former site of Concorso.
There’s also 5 automotive auctions in town for the weekend, at The Quail, Concorso, downtown Monterey at the Marriott and one other hotel, and out at Pebble Beach.
There’s also the Pacific Grove Concours Auto Rally in the afternoon, luckily timed to fit nicely between the key handover ceremony and the evening dinner!
Saturday are the races at Laguna Seca, and Sat night is the AFAS art show preview at Pebble Beach concours site at The Lodge; and Sunday, more races at Laguna, and the Concours……..all this and getting a MINI GP, too.
If you haven’t been to Historics, Sports Car Market Magazine does a great Monterey preview in their magazine.
